For those who are interested in testing the latest MOL-feature;
the bitkeeper version now supports saved sessions
(bk://waltari.theophys.kth.se:5000).

To enable this feature, add the line 'session_file: /tmp/mol-session'
to the molrc file. Pressing F12 will now save the current MOL
session to disk (make sure there are plenty of disk space
available!). The next time MOL is started, the session will
automatically be restored.

On my machine, it takes less than two seconds to save or restore
a session (128 MB of mol-RAM).

Some things to think about:

- If a mol-exported HFS volume are modified/mounted after a
session has been saved, MOL will refuse to restore the session
(fortunately, both HFS and HFS+ has a last-modified timestamp
which is checked by MOL).

- If the molrc file is edited after a session has been saved,
it is not certain it will be possible to restore the session.
Restore the session and shutdown MacOS normally before editing
the molrc file (or updating mol...).

- Networking will probably not work in the restored session
(IP-filter etc. is not yet restored).

- NewWorld only (saving the complete OldWorld state is
possible but takes some more work).

Cheers,

/Samuel
