Well, instead of deleting the old files, you should completely upgrade to
the newest kernel. The newest stable kernel is 2.2.16, and your entire
system will probably run better with that than 2.2.15pre3. There is a site
accessible from penguinppc.org that explains where to get and how to
install kernels. Your best bet might be to find the RPMs if you aren't
familiar with compiling things.
