Hum.. weird. I do let run constantly running for hours with MacOS 9.0.4
and ROM 3.7 without such problem... (I'll try with 3.8 tomorrow).

I'm not sure reading the ROM version from System profiler works, but you
can use "Display Name Registry" and look at the node "Devices:device-
tree:rom:macos"
