Subject: mol and gnome problem

I'm running mol 0.9.48 on a G3 Powerbook. I'm very happy with it - given
128 MB, it doesn't seem noticeably slower than native MacOS!
I also use gdm with sawmill and gnome-session.
I have an odd problem. If I launch any gnome application, it blocks
while mol is running. "ps aux" shows the process as sleeping. As soon as
mol has stopped, all the gnome apps I have launched since mol started
suddenly appear. Other X apps are unaffected. If I launch too many apps,
gnome-panel locks up until mol stops.
Any ideas?
