Eric,

This has been happening to me - exactly as you describe. Hanging with the
happy mac at the kOpen command.

I'm on a Mac PB G3 Os8.6 128Meg, Linux 2000 on external drive. I've used
various system maps, various ROMs and to no avail. Its so damn frustrating
to be so close and yet get nothing.

I've tried different video configurations, changing boot order, even tried
booting from a macOS CD, but all gives the same result. I'm waiting on the
next MOL version to see if that helps....
