I have rebuilt a new 2.2.14 kernel using the 2.2.15 patch. I did this
because I had the complete 2.2.14 source. Unfortunately, I am not able to
fit the entire linux-pmac-stable source tree on my hard drive -- I tried
to rsync it but it totally filled the drive up before all was copied. (I
only have 1 Gb for Linux and 1 Gb for Mac OS on my hard drive).

If I need to use the newer source tree, I can try this, but it will mean
that I need to repartition the drive to give myself a large enough Linux
partition. That is unless there is a smaller subset of the source than
what I got when I rsynced before (as per your suggestions about a month
ago, I think).

Ah, an interesting question. The mac side never gets to creating a blank
screen or anything, but I managed to run top at high enough priority to
see the actual mol process (as opposed to startmol) start running before
the hang. I wouldn't think any extensions were being loaded by then.

In any case, if this is an issue, I should get a bit more info from you.
When I run Mac OS normally, I have a 'My Settings' set-up in the Extension
Manager. I could of course change this to 9.0.4 Base for a test, but in
general there is software that I would like access to in mol (Suitcase,
for instance, or ATM). How do I specify what extension config for MOL to
invoke, and what are the limitations imposed?

                                Thanks,

                                        Bob
