Unfortunately, this is (almost certainly) not a bug in MOL but rather
in the kernel driver. You ought to get the same result if you do a
'cat /dev/cdrom' or 'dd if=/dev/cdrom of=/dev/null count=20000 seek=1000'.

You can always comment out the /dev/cdrom line in /etc/molrc
to prevent MOL from accessing the CD.
