Subject: MoL from rsync and MoL 0.9.57 crash G3

I have not been able to get MoL to run at all recently. 0.9.56 was the
last version that worked for me. The rsync tree, since shortly after the
0.9.56 release, just locks up the system I'm using (Apple "Yosemite" G3
tower, 350 MHz G3, 192 MB RAM). With today's rsync tree, it actually
managed to force it out of X and left it at the boot monitor. I'm in the
process of reverting to 0.9.56 now. I'm running benh's 2.4.3 kernel,
with AltiVec support turned off (since this is a G3, which doesn't know
AltiVec anyhow).
