Can anyone help Mr. Stupid (a.k.a me)?
I am very embarassed to tell this story, but my lust
for mol overwhelms my pride, so here I go:
Before checking which version of the kernel I was
running, I stupidly downloaded mol for 2.4 and
installed with rpm. After I had the stunning
realization that I am in fact running 2.2 I downloaded
the proper version of mol for this kernel and
installed it with rpm. In my immense wisdom, I did not
do a
'rpm - e ...' before installing the proper version.
Now, by dint of your correspondence I am very close to
getting mol to run, but *of course* I have the wrong
module in /usr/lib/mol/modules/mol.o, it's the one for
2.4. On top of that, if I re-install with rpm, I
don't get a fresh copy of mol.o.
So I was thinking (not always a good idea for me) I
could use someone else's mol.o who has it running with
2.2. Is that the right idea?
I did try and find mol.o on various web sites before
typing this message so please don't flame me for being
too lazy.
Sincerely,
       John Hancock
