ELF ?

After the following:

hpmount /dev/sda7
hpcd "System Folder"
hpcopy "Mac OS ROM" /usr/lib/mol/rom/rom.nw
hpumount

And then editing the molrc to point to the right device, whenever I type
startmol I get a terminal window, which goes full screen, and then dies with
a message that rom/rom.nw isn't an ELF?

What the heck does that mean? What can I do to correct it (or, what did I do
wrong?)
