You could try 'make mrproper' and then reconfigure and
recompile the kernel. It ought to remove the problem,
although I tried this and it didn't work. Possibly
the symbol versioning is broken (I haven't had the
time yet to investigate).
In any case, a working workaround is compiling the kernel
without the "Set version information on all module symbols"
option.
