256 mb RAM limit?

Hi,
Normally I boot MOL with "ramsize: 256". With ramsize set
to 257 or greater, Mac OS never boots under MOL --there is only a
black screen after I type "startmol". On the Linux side MOL says:

Replacing old translation (EA 00100000, old-phys 00100000)
Replacing old translation (EA 00100000, old-phys 00100000)
Replacing old translation (EA 00100000, old-phys 00100000)

until I kill it. Is there a limit on how much RAM one can give Mac
OS? I have 320 mb of physical RAM in my PB and I would love to give
MOL more of it. Has anybody else dealt with this problem? As
always, I look forward to any replies.
Thanks,
Nick
