Many thanks for the prompt reply! I downloaded and installed
binutils-2.10.1.0.4-1, and now mol-9.58 compiles and appears to
run with no problems.

By the way, I see that there is now a mol-9.59 and mol-kmods-9.59
on the mol ftp archive; are these experimental "bleeding edge",
or ready for prime time?
