molstart fails with pci problem

Using mol-0.9.53, kernel 2.4.2, macos 9.2. I tried a number of newer 
versions, but make modules fails looking for modversions.h. I've used 
mol-0.9.53 before on another machine with no problems and would like to 
get it working on this one if possible, then compile new kmods/mol later.
