603ev hangs

I've got a 603 machine that seems to hang anytime I try to do something
meaningful.

I'm running MacOS 8.6 with VNC video.  Whenever I try and run Netscape
or Internet Explorer, the machine hangs and doesn't seem to go anywhere.

Virtual Memory on or off makes no difference, emulated G3 or 604 makes
no difference, and 0.9.64 or 0.9.65 makes no difference.

SIDENOTE: I run over VNC, so the debugger seems useless because it won't
detect the META keys.  Any chance we could add commands to the debugger
that don't require META keys?  This would allow me to at least try and
use the debugger.


I compiled the modules and the kernel myself, but when I load the
modules, I get:
