status/hints about startmol --linux

I would like to boot off of a gentoo install cd and install on a
separate partition (i dont want to give up my computer for 2 day to
compiling!). I have been trying to make sense of how to use the --linux
boot flag and the config file in 0.9.65. When I look at the molrc.linux
file, I see 3 different sessions and am not sure how to set each up. Any
suggestions or ideas?
