How do you set boot args when booting MacOS X?

I'm getting a panic right after trying to boot 6C115 on this 
PowerCenter Pro from the built-in cd, and I'd like to set the boot-args 
to see what the panic is (the graphical screen just goes "corrupt" 
rather than printing the text).
