Starting OSX single-user

Hi all,

Is it possible to start MacOS X single user from within MOL? I've managed
to mess up my OSX NIS configuration, and it now won't boot - it just gets 
stuck waiting for NIS. I need to boot it single-user to disable NIS, but
can't seem to get it to do so. Holding down Alt-S (I defined left-Alt as the
Apple key, since I'm using a PC keyboard) at boot time should theoretically
do this, but MOL doesn't seem to take any notice of it.

Any ideas?
