wrong mol-kmods after compile

What I can gather from my limited knowledge is that the new kernel I 
downloaded is a pre-compiled, pre-configured package and it just 
doesn't seem to install the kernel headers.
I'm back to 2.4.18 with MOL 0.9.65 running great, no kernel mismatch, 
and will leave it at that for now.
