OS X in MOL on a laptop-mode enabled kernel

Hi!

Can someone confirm that OS X reacts somewhat slow when the underlying
linuxkernel has laptop-mode enabled (2.4.21-benh2 which comes with it).

Is it somehow that the kernel can't keep track of the files that are
opened and closed on the OS X partition from where I boot OS X?

Hardware is a 700Mhz iBook w/ 368MB RAM, OS X has 196 of these.

BTW: Is the RAM for the OS started by MOL completely malloced on startup
or is it allocated to fit the needs of the underlying OS?
