O.K.

I advise people selecting a linux distribution to use one that their friends
do. Gentoo certainly passes this test, as I have two sets of friends who
use it.

I like linux from scratch.

The point about buying it, is that this is tangible proof of ones support.
(I can reach out and touch purchaased copies of all the Open Source software
that this company uses). I might have to wait until a linux Expo to buy an
official Gentoo, though. In the case of MOL, it is very necessary to use
a distribution that active contributors use.
