Actually, even if the Apple_Bootstrap partition isn't the first in the 
map, most NewWorld systems are outfitted with OF 4.x (Pismo, iBook2, all 
G4 PowerMacs and PowerBooks, etc.), and you can access the GUI boot 
selector by holding the Option key at boot, and yaboot will show a nice 
little penguin icon that you can use to boot Linux from.
