Web browsing on OS X

I have YDL 3.0 installed on my machine, and mol is running OS X.
I can do some networking from OS X, such as FTP and telnet, but no 
web browsing.
I saw some other posts about this problem, and the solution was to 
update the kernel
to 2.4.20.  Well I already have that version from the base install of YDL 3.0.
So there must be something else to do, but what?
