Yellow Dog Linux Users,
We are pleased to offer improved MathATLAS, FFTW, and the GCC suite for Yellow
Dog Linux v3.0, as described in more detail below:
--- math-atlas ---
ATLAS stands for Automatically Tuned Linear Algebra Software. ATLAS is both a
research project and a software package. It provides a complete BLAS API (for
both C and Fortran77), and a very small subset of the LAPACK API. The
subroutines are all optimized for the Altivec.

--- fftw ---
FFTW is a C subroutine library for computing the discrete Fourier transform
(DFT) in one or more dimensions, of both real and complex data, and of
arbitrary input size. FFTW's performance is typically superior to that of
other publicly available FFT software, and is even competitive with
vendor-tuned codes. This RPM is compiled for PowerPC G4, and utilizes the
altivec.

--- gcc ---
Although Altivec support has been included in gcc3.2.2, this version of gcc
(built from the 20030414 gcc3.3-branch) has better support, and has resolved
internal compiler errors some Altivec developers were receiving with
gcc3.2.2. This is a developer snapshot, although it seems to be perfectly
stable and suitable for any compilation.
