Linux on POWER refers to the operating environment of running Linux and
applications on POWER processor-based systems such as the IBM eServer(TM)
pSeries(R), iSeries(R) and BladeCenter(R) JS20, and also other products like
the Apple Power Mac G5. For the general Linux developer, the Apple Power Mac
G5 provides a dual-processor workstation that is based on the same Power
architecture that provides binary compatibility with other IBM POWER4(R) and
POWER5(R) processor-based servers.
Developers can make their Workstation developed applications available to IBM
eServer(TM) customers by utilizing the University of Portland's remote access
service for testing on server-side environments and posting the applications
to the Linux on POWER repository. For more information, see
