actually, an equvalent statement would be more like
'most people don't need a journaling filesystem, they just want to
send email and browse the web'
atomicity and rollback are features. if you don't need them, using
them as a basis for comparison doesn't help very much.
the original question was asked by someone wanting to learn.
'edification' was the term they used, i believe. mysql is perfect for
this. it is accessible and there is help everywhere. that is to say
nothing about postgresql in any way.
