install problems solved

I finally got YDL 2.2 to install.  Before admiting defeat I decided to
try the 2.2 kernel text install and this finally worked.  The gui
installers never asked me about mount points and this in the end was
really the problem.  My / partition is not the first on the drive.  The
installer was trying to install onto the first partition which I use for
my /home directory.

now for the fun part, configuring.
