Running YDL 2.2 w/Cinema Display

I've just recently downloaded YDL 2.2, burned it to CD, and I'm trying to
install it on my G4 500 DP with a Cinema Display connected to the ADC port
of the Radeon. I've had to start up the system in "novideo" mode for both
the installation and when I'm at the "boot" prompt, otherwise I get a black
screen. After I'm logged in and I type startx, X attempts to start and
fails, and I get an error that no screens could be found.

I'm definitely a Linux newbie and I'm not sure what I can do to get this
thing working. Any suggestions?
