I'm STILL having sound problems

  OK, this can't be as hard as I'm making it. Just to let ya'll who 
might help know, I'm very new at this.

I have downloaded "xmms-cdread-0.9a-1.ppc.rpm"

In the terminal I type "rpm -ihv xmms-cdread-0.9a-1.ppc.rpm" and get a 
lot of errors so I change to root(su) and type "rpm -ihv 
/home/chris/xmms-cdread-0.9a-1.ppc.rpm"
Insallation appears to go ok.

I open XMMS and open the preferences(ctrl-p) and find that cdread is not 
listed in the plugins directory.

What am I missing?
