Accellerated X with GeForce2 card

On my QuickSilver 733 G4 (w/ nVidia GeForce 2 MX standard card & ADC 
15" Apple Studio Display) I tried the YDL 2.2, kernel 2.4.18-0.9a, 
installed from the distribution CD, so having a non-accellerated X 
environment (the auto-generated XFConfig-4 contains 'Driver "fbdev"' 
command, even if I checked the 'use accellerated video' option during 
YDL 2.2 install procedure).

In this configuration, KDE-Konqueror requires about 3 seconds to 
display the contents of a folder after a 'click' on it.

As suggested by A.Joshy in a mail posted on February, to start 
accellerated video I used in XFConfig-4

Driver "nv"
Option "FlatPanel"

along with the proper BusID and Identifier in the Device section, and

append="video=ofonly"

into yaboot.conf file (I launched mkofboot after the change, as 
requested) but the system hangs-up at 'startx' with a black, 
deep-blue or stripes-red screen (depending on the colour depth 
specified, 8, 16 or 24).

Any help to solve the problem will be appreciated.
