I believe you need to recompile the kernel to enable support for
Solaris partitions.  There are Solaris related options in the
filesystem and/or partition map related sections of the kernel
configuration.  Look carefully using `make menuconfig' or `make
xconfig'.  I have not tried these options, only noted them in
passing.
