Haven't tried it, but since it is a redhat derivate and redhat uses
python as it's in hose language of choice some of redhat's code will
probably break, tools such as redhat-config-network and the printing
subsystem are in danger.
I would suggest that you upgrade the python2 package instead, which is
designed to co-exist with python and not breaking old stuff. Try to
rebuild
http://ftp.sunet.se/pub/Linux/distributions/redhat/redhat/linux/7.3/en/os/i386/SRPMS/python2-2.2-16.src.rpm and if it works, it is probably safe to install :)
