No more journaling?! ext3 fs problems

That file should have attributes of +i  and +d  (lsattr -a)  You can use the
chattr program to remove these... probably best to do it in single user
mode, even better to temporarily set the FS to ext2 in fstab or mount it
manually as ext2.

Hi,

Thanks for the hint, but how do I remove the .journal file? Everytime I
tried doing that, I get an error saying that I can't do that, even
though I am logged in as root! Even tune2fs will not allow me to unset
the has_journal flag on /dev/sda4.

Any help appreciated.
