New Ibook 800 mhz Install

Several people have gotten YDL 2.3 to install on the new 800 Mhz iBook
though not without some video problems.

I installed YDL 2.3 by using the safe text mode option and explicitly
setting the partitions.  The default installation does not work.

Once installed, the video display has a few problems.  The first is one
that you've already encountered:  the screen just goes dark.  The
workaround here is to hit the "dim display" button on the keyboard (F1) a
few times (yes, dim display, not brighten).  After a few presses, the
display should reappear.

At this point, the second problem appears:  there are quite a few
horizontal line artifacts that dance around on the screen.  I've tried
setting the video setting during the installation, and I haven't had any
luck getting rid of the lines.  At this point, because of the artifacts, I
find YDL 2.3 to be unusable on my iBook.

I wonder if this upcoming "great announcement" about PPC Linux will include
a new version that fixes these problems....
