Print Setup

Hi all,

I have a problem, getting my printer to work.
There are two ways, I can set up a printer, so it seems.
Environment =3D KDE 3.0.0

1. Menu -> System -> Printer Configuration
The printer is an HP LaserJet 4050 on a TCP/IP network, I know the port, =
IP,=20
etc and I got this working just fine on the RedHat 7.3 machine.
On the PowerBook, it accepts the printer but is unable to print.
I get: There's an Error loading kdeprint_lpd
The diagnostic code is empty.

2.KDE Control Center -> System tag -> Printing Manager
Going through the motions using the LPR option, I eventuallu get:

Unable to create printer. Error message received from manager:
Unsupported backend: socket.

on all other options, the program crashes after I press the 'FINISH' butt=
on.=20
Now, this is happeneing on YDL 2.2 as well as on RedHat 7.3, I suppose, t=
his=20
is some sort of generic error, however, it's not going to help, I still c=
an's=20
print and it's driving me crazy!

Best regards,
Chris
