Connecting USB and IDE drive to Powerbook G3

Hi,

I've been trying without success, so here I go:

Powerbook Lombard G3--I have an external USB floppy and printer. When I 
am in KDE and look at my USB devices, I can see they are detected. How 
do I actually mount the floppy and get the printer to work?

Also, I have a Zip drive bay device that I can swap out with my CDRom, 
that I assume must be IDE--how do I get that device installed and then 
mount drives?
