Install problems on 8500/G3

GUI installation worked perfectly (several dozen times) on my 8550 (with 
and without the Sonnet Encore-G3/500). Haven't tried the text 
installation yet though. When you sat the screen is half your CRT, is 
only half the screen being drawn or is the resolution set too low?
