2.2 Install - boot failures

Ok Im completely stuck here...Ive downloaded the image 4 times from 3
different computers on 4 different connections and every time I
install it on this mac (G4 Cube) or my laptop which previously ran
YDL 2.1 (G3 Lombard) it fails when yaboot tries to load the linux
partition. I looked at the line it spit out and noticed it was
referencing the wrong partition.

So I correct this and it starts booting then says that the "root="
value couldnt be found (it was referencing sd2 or something, SCSI? Im
ata...) so I try to declare that with the string fixing it and it
failed... no booting...

Im now going to try and get bootX to work (on the lombard) because I
saw a post where someone was able to get it to boot with that and
edit thier yaboot.conf. If anyone else has any way to get this to
work correctly let me know...I think I may reformat the machine as
well (It needs a good reformatting and Id like to place OS 9 and OS X
on separate partitions so I can use yaboot to boot to one or the
other...)
