Sendmail & Mailing Lists

I've been trying to get a mailing list configured and keep running 
into the same problem and I'm not sure how to fix this . . so I 
created a test list(just has a single email address in it now) and 
then set up my /etc/aliases file to look like this:

# Mail Lists
owner-emarket:		emarket-request
emarket-request:	mgraham
emarket:			 /var/www/mailinglists/list

and then executed the newaliases command. Now, when I try and send 
an email to the list "emarket" it gets bounced back to me with the 
following errors:

    ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
/var/www/mailinglists/list
     (reason: can't create (user) output file)
     (expanded from: <emarket@kiron-design.com>)

    ----- Transcript of session follows -----
550 5.0.0 /var/www/mailinglists/list... Can't create output
Reporting-MTA: dns; kiron-design.com
Received-From-MTA: DNS; g3.kiron-design.com.0.16.172.in-addr.arpa
Arrival-Date: Fri, 29 Mar 2002 16:31:08 -0700

What could the problem be? I've checked the permissions, and they 
all look ok . . I'm stumped! If anyone could help a fellow out on 
this it would be great!!
