mac processor speed

I agree that amount of RAM is the biggest factor here, but wouldn't the
video chipset/amount of VRAM also affect display performance?

A 333 megaherts G3 is comparable  to approxamately a 400 to 500
megaherts Pentium 2. An ya, more memory will help!
