Newbee question

Hello List,
I have 2 new G4 800 MHz. Power Mac's on my desk with ViewSonic Model
E220(21 inch VGA) Displays.
They both run OS X fine, but when I boot to the YD2.3 boot disk, I try
to start the graphical install and my display goes blank, and the
display shuts off. I can Ctrl-Alt-F2 and get a shell.
Any Ideas on how to tell the install that I have a VGA on the VGA
connector? Do I need a converter box?
