In my experience, the Twin Turbo cards never had an issue running in 
the open firmware framebuffer (OFfb). They just won't work 
accelerated. Actually, with some 2.4.x kernel, my TT started working 
accelerated somewhat, but the video would break up into little pieces 
as I moved windows around. It was not as bad as it sounds, it worked 
fairly well and was fairly usable, but was pretty unsightly.

You'll want to pass an argument like

	video=imsttfb:vmode:17,cmode:16

to try to get an accelerated console. Try cmode:8 if 16 doesn't work. 
On some kernel versions that was something I noted.
