USB ZIP drive "not a block device" error

I had the same problem with firewire, but I was using hfs, apples filesys=
tem,=20
so I just ran hfs from the command line, if you are using hfs, try it, al=
so=20
run man hfs.  Another thing you may want to try would be running,

modprobe block-major-2

To see if you have it, and if not, get it from rpmfind.net, I have no ide=
a if=20
this will work, it is just a conclusion I draw from your log.
