Gnome 2 on YD 2.3

I'm compiling garnome http://www.gnome.org/~jdub/garnome/ as we speak.

0.18.3 Is giving me fits so far, It calls for 1GB free disc space to
compile, but it's actually more like 2GB on PPC.  The plan was to
install a 'base' YDL 2.3 install, get a sane toolchain for compiling,
install Xfree and the GTK1.X dependancies manually with apt-get (and
cross my fingers after 'make install' ;)

If I can get this working satisfactorially with AA fonts I'll post a
howto on making a bleeding-edge YDL desktop.
