nVida gives Not only binaries, but source as well so you can compile your
own.

ATI has terible linux support

And Nvidia provides Linux driver binaries which rival their windows
counterparts, toss up if you ask me. ATI drivers are bare bones drivers,
with
a lot of the card's functionality not enabled.
