Sonnet Customer Service says, re the Crescendo/WS G4 Card; 

" We did not test this card with any flavor of Linux since we don't support
Linux with any of our upgrades. Doesn't mean it doesn't work, it just means
we've never tested it. Our programming team is busy enough just supporting
OS 9 and OS X."
