X Windows Problems

I am having this weird problem that just appeared out of the blue. I was
working in X Windows perfectly fine until all of a sudden, after I type
startx, my display takes up only 1/2 the screen. Everything is mushed in to
the 1/2 of the screen and the colors are all off.

I have tried 1000 permutations of using dexter.py to change the refresh
rates with no joy. 

I then reinstalled both the MacOS and Yellowdog and I STILL get the problem.

Anyone have a working config for a ATI Rage 128 going to a Powercomputing
15" monitor? I do not know where to look next and I need to get X Windows
running ASAP....
