I have found a workable solution as a substitute until Airport Extreme
is supported. The new Linksys Mini-USB adapter works great with the
latest linux-wlan drivers (0.2.0) and the 2.4.20 kernel source supplied
with YDL 3.0. Just setup the config files in /etc/wlan and add
ifcfg-wlan0 to your /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts directory. And
because the Linksys adapter is Prism3 based, tools like kismet and
airsnort also work very well.
I am using an Airport basestation with 40-bit WEP enabled and haven't
noticed any performance issues.
