yellowdog on imac 1ghz 17"

hello 
i have a problem with installation of yellowdog 2.3 on
my imac 1ghz.
I entered in open firmware and write:
boot cd:,install/yaboot
the installation start 
i select text mode.
but after appare a message that say: there is no hard
disk.
i have prepared before an hd with two partition:
one unallocade (for yellowdog"
and a second for mac os X .
p.s
mac os work fine , and i think that the problem is or
me or yellowdog 2.3 installation
excuse for my english but i' m italian .
