Unable to mount root fs -- Beige G3 with IDE drive

I installed the IDE drive to bypass the SCSI issue, but the result is =
the same so far.  I tried all the advice including the BenH kernels and =
booting from IDE seemed to work for at least a couple of people.  Can't =
seem to crack this nut!
